Job description

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (KPAS)
KPA 1: Ensure Assistants /Duties Are Undertaken To Assist the General Handyman
KPI
1.1 Deal with requests accordingly, as instruction by the General Handyman.
1.2 Ensure that the necessary tools are readily available and that the necessary manpower resources are available.
1.3 Undertake General Handyman tasks and if necessary assist the General Handyman for specific tasks.
1.4 Prepare, dismantle, and reassemble equipment being repaired.
1.5 Assist other departments/sections as and when needed.
1.6 Comply with regulatory requirements of SHEQ, SOP’s and legislation.
1.7 Travel to Zone Sites and/or Branches to perform maintenance with the General Handyman
1.8 Perform other reasonable duties as and when required from supervisor.

KPA 2: Ensures That Tool and Ladder Registers Are Completed Monthly. Ensures That Tools And Equipment Are Cleaned And Maintained
KPI
2.1 Sign tools and equipment out of stock.
2.2 Maintain lifespan of tools through constant maintenance.

KPA 3: Ensures That the Highest Standard of Cleanliness Is Maintained On The Worksite. To Clean Workshop and Ensure Safety Checks. Check Fire Equipment’s.
KPI
3.1 Clean and maintain worksite environment.
3.2 Keeps workshop clean by sweeping and dusting machinery.

KPA 4: Undertakes Admin Duties

4.1 To close works orders, to complete purchase requisition, to complete attendance register and good time keeping.

Minimum requirements

Education
  • Grade 10.
  •  Ideal: Certificate in carpentry or plumbing or welding.
Experience and knowledge requirements
Relevant experience in one or more of the
following:
  • Painting.
  • Basic Welding.
  • Plumbing.
  • Carpentry
